We all feel anger sometimes. Anger does have a healthy purpose, in some situations. At its extreme, it takes over.

But, imagine work without anger:   many people feel that a workplace without anger cannot exist; furthermore, in-fighting occurs regularly enough to convince us that we can't work without anger. As a result, coping skills often address the symptoms without any opportunity for dealing with a cause.

Therefore, this course will address symptoms and causes. In fact, many kinds of anger occur, and with many causes. We cannot always find or change the causes of anger. But in this course, we can identify why people think differently, the types of anger that occur, and the solutions that we personally can use to work without anger.   Once participants can identify patterns which underlie their own anger experiences, the training exercises gain an experiential, personal relevance, not as generic rules but livable solutions.

It is language which holds the solutions for seeing and acting upon patterned reactions, new, or volatile situations.  Changing the description of reality to new ways of seeing suggests to the participant a plethora of  new solutions, new perspectives, and new courses of action.

Who Should Attend:

Managerial and supervisory personnel who have experienced or observed the disabling impacts of anger in the workplace will learn to integrate diverse points of view into a smooth aggregate. Anyone who currently suffers from anger or at the hands of another person with anger will benefit.  Anyone in a formal or informal leadership position, who can defuse or redirect potentially unproductive staff, peer, or employee reactions, will gain malleable skills for adapting to myriad situations.
